Lichfield Cathedral launches tower tours at Easter

Lichfield Cathedral East1Tower tours are back at Lichfield Cathedral for anyone with a head for heights.

The Great Central Tower at the cathedral is opening to the public from Easter Monday, April 21 for the first time since 2010.

The tour includes a a spectacular birds-eye view of the city of Lichfield and beyond, plus a visit to the interactive Tower Education Zone half way up the Central Tower.

The education zone features the chance to learn about the design and architecture of the building, its location, geography and history from Anglo-Saxon times, through the Middle Ages right up to the present day.

Each Tower Tour lasts approximately an hour and a half. Tickets are £6.50 for adults, while family tickets are £20 for two adults and two children.

The ticket price also includes a free tea or coffee at Chapters cafe plus a 10 per cent discount on purchases at the Cathedral Shop on the day of the tour.

After Easter Monday, tours will take place every Saturday from April 26 to October 25 at 10am, 12 noon and 2pm
